Trial Launch of Teletalk Online SIM Service

Trial Launch of Teletalk Online SIM Service

Teletalk has launched an online SIM service on a trial basis. Initially, starting from the afternoon of November 27, this service has been introduced as a commercial pilot in 11 post offices across the Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Chapainawabganj districts under the Rajshahi Division.

Eventually, the service will be expanded to all post offices across Bangladesh.

The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology announced this information through a press release on Thursday, November 28.

According to the press release, the trial launch of Teletalk's online SIM service took place on Wednesday, November 27, at the Advisor's Office on Hare Road in the capital city. The event was graced by the presence of Md. Nahid Islam, the Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, who attended as the chief guest.

The press release further stated that Teletalk Bangladesh Limited, the country’s only state-owned mobile operator, has integrated its SIM distribution with the postal delivery services of the Bangladesh Post Office. This initiative enables customers to choose and order their preferred Teletalk SIM number online and collect it from their nearest post office or have it delivered directly to their homes.

To acquire a preferred Teletalk SIM, customers will need to pay BDT 250 for post-office collection or BDT 300 for home delivery through a mobile wallet. An automated tracking number will allow customers to monitor the delivery status of their SIM. Orders can be placed through the "Online SIM" menu on Teletalk's official website at teletalk.com.bd.

The event was attended by special guest Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications. Also present were Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, Managing Director of Teletalk Bangladesh Limited, S.M. Shahab Uddin, Director General of the Bangladesh Postal Department, and other senior officials from Teletalk and the postal department.
