Smugglers have become active again after being closed for a long time in Srivardi and Jhenaigati border bordering Sherpur. Smuggling of cattle, cosmetics and narcotics is increasing from India through the border of Kharamora, Tawakocha and Hariakona areas of Garo hills of the upazila. Local residents are alarmed.

BSF and BGB are bringing cattle and drugs from Porakashia. These smuggled cows are being sold in the local border areas of Kharamora, Tawakocha and Hariakona villages. Residents of those villages said that cows, drugs and Indian cosmetics are being smuggled in for about 3-4 months without the eyes of India's BSF.
Most of the cows come early in the morning on Saturdays and Tuesdays of the week. That is why the wholesalers started gathering in those villages every Saturday and Tuesday evening. It is sold in the villages bordering the border. After that, they brought Karnjhora, Balijuri, Vayadanga to different markets along the mountain road. Drugs and cosmetics are coming with the cows. These are sold through secret. However, the traffic of drug dealers is also open.
Meanwhile, Taiyab Ali of Kharamora village, Kalo Gazi, Bishu Ali of Balijuri village, Abdul Haque, Bachcha Gella, Abdur Rahim, Noor Nabi of Ofis Para, Kamal and Biplab of Karnjhora are directly involved in smuggling here. Earlier, Biplab was caught by the BSF while cutting the barbed wire fence in India and was imprisoned for a long time. He was caught in the net of police and DB many times in the country. Earlier, many drugs and cosmetics were caught by the police and Rebbe but the reason for not being caught by the BGB is the question of the people of Ela? A BGB member said that when Naqshi tried to contact Zulfikar Ali, the company commander of the BGB camp, on the phone, he was not found and he did not appear to be sick.
