A total of 9 people, including independent candidates, are contesting for the post of MP in Munshiganj-1 constituency. Immediately after the allotment of symbols to the candidates, they have appeared in the election field. Earlier, a total of 11 candidates submitted nomination papers in this seat. On the last day of candidate withdrawal, Zaker Party candidate Sheikh Ataur Rahman withdrew his nomination. Besides, the district returning officer announced the cancellation of the nomination of BNM candidate Farid Hossain. A total of 9 candidates, including 3 women, are contesting for the seat.

The candidates are Bangladesh Awami League boat candidate Sirajdikhan Upazila Awami League President and former Chairman of Upazila Parishad Mohiuddin Ahmed, Kula Prateek Alternative Joint Secretary General and current MP Mahi. B. Chowdhury, Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League's organizing secretary Golam Sarwar Kabir is the only independent candidate with the truck symbol, Trinamool BNP Chairperson Antara Semila Huda with the golden scale symbol, Jatiya Party presidium member Advocate Sheikh Muhammad Sirajul Islam with the plow symbol, Bangladesh Khilafat Movement with the banyan tree symbol. Ataullah, National People's Party candidate Doel Akhtar with mango symbol, Baul artist Latif Sarkar of Bangladesh Supreme Party with Ekta symbol, Bangladesh Congress candidate Nurjahan Begum Rita is running with Dub symbol.

However, after the allotment of the symbols, the election field has been crowded with boat and truck symbol campaigns in the election field. With this, Mahi B., the candidate of Kula Prateek from last Tuesday. Chowdhury started campaigning at his home in Daihata Majidpur of Srinagar upazila through a staff meeting. He is going to voters with party leaders and workers. Apart from this, so far the other candidates are not seen much in the election campaign.

In the meantime, boat candidate Mohiuddin Ahmed is seeking votes through public relations, processions and road meetings with local leaders, activists and supporters in various markets and streets of Srinagar and Sirajdikhan upazilas of Munshiganj-1 constituency. Boat candidate Mohiuddin Ahmed held mass in various places including Srinagar market around last Wednesday morning. On the other hand, the truck symbol candidate Golam Sarwar Kabir held road meetings in Srinagar upazila's Radhikhal, Tindokan, New Bazar in the morning and Sirajdikhan upazila area park in the afternoon. At this time, thousands of leaders, activists and supporters joined the election meeting by marching and celebrating. The meeting place became crowded.

Sushilmahl says that the public's curiosity around this seat is high as the heavyweight candidates of several parties have submitted their nominations for the Munshiganj-1 seat. Early on, there were rumors that the ruling party might give concessions to the candidate of the Awami League alliance in Munshiganj-1 constituency. However, as the seat distribution agreement was not reached until the last day of withdrawal of nominations, MP Mahi B Chowdhury, the winner of the alliance last time, is competing with the boat candidate.

Independent candidate Golam Sarwar Kabir has become well-known to people of all walks of life as a result of his long presence in the politics of Srinagar-Sirajdikhan of Munshiganj-1 Constituency. He is running at breakneck speed with the truck symbol. It is assumed that the truck symbol will have a vote battle with the boat symbol.

Ordinary voters say that they will vote for the candidate who can be found on their side as a representative of the people. They do not want any candidate who is divided. They want to exercise their right to vote on behalf of the people-friendly and preferred candidate in the national parliament election on January 7 in a peaceful environment.

According to the related sources, Munshiganj-1 parliamentary constituency no-171. There are 28 total unions in two upazilas. The total number of polling stations is 170. Total voters are 5 lakh 8 thousand 986 people. 2 lakh 47 thousand 138 female voters and 2 lakh 61 thousand 848 male voters. Out of this, the total number of voters in Srinagar upazila is 2 lakh 53 thousand 784. Total voters in Sirajdikhan upazila are 2 lakh 55 thousand 202.
