Autorickshaw driver lost control and fell into canal, killed in Madan
Driver Joy Hossain (25) was killed when a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw lost control and fell into a canal at Madan in Netrokona. He was killed by falling into the Kanjar canal near Barri village on the Madan-Kendua road on Tuesday late night.
On Wednesday morning, local people recovered the body of the driver and took it to Madan Upazila Health Complex. The deceased is the son of Jasim Uddin of Bantiashri village in Fatepur Union of Joy Hossain Upazila. In this incident, a passenger named Nurul Amin (58) is under treatment at Upazila Health Complex.
According to police sources, Joy Hossain was returning from Mymensingh with passengers on Tuesday night. The autorickshaw lost control and fell into the Kanjar canal on the Madan-Kendua road near Barri Bazar. Nurul Amin, a passenger in the autorickshaw, came to Madan Upazila Health Complex with injuries. But when the driver fell into the canal, the local people recovered his body and took it to the Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday morning.
When asked about this, Madan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ujjal Kanti Sarkar told Ajkar newspaper, "The auto-rickshaw lost control and fell into the Kanjar canal and the driver was killed." The body has been sent to the Netrakona Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
