Security strengthened at Sylhet railway station to prevent vandalism
RAB has strengthened security at Sylhet railway station to prevent vandalism. Recently, this special organization of the law and order force has come to the field to ensure overall security in the case of burning of trains in various parts of the country. Intelligence surveillance has been strengthened in all the surrounding stations including Sylhet.
On Friday (December 22) at 9:30 pm at the Sylhet railway station, this information was given by RAB-9's captain, Wing Commander Md. Mominul Haque.
In the press conference, the official said, as part of the safety of the train passengers, the bomb disposal unit of RAB-9 is conducting sweeping operations at different times in the station and in different trains. Apart from this, plainclothes intelligence surveillance by RAB-9 has been increased with extreme vigilance at important points of the stations to control any kind of vandalism and untoward situation. In addition, RAB-9 is working to ensure the safety of train journeys by coordinating and sharing information with various law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies.
He also said that robust petrol is being administered regularly in railway stations. Checkpost activities are being conducted continuously at important points of stations under RAB-9 so that vandals and miscreants cannot carry any inflammable materials, sabotage and explosives or illegal goods (drugs, firearms) etc.
The captain of RAB-9 said that since its inception, RAB has been playing a leading role in arresting various types of brutal and heinous criminals. Apart from fighting crime, by participating in various social activities, he has been able to gain the trust of people from all walks of life through various service works on the side of the public. This activity of RAB to deal with the undesirable situation by strengthening the law and order and security of the country has been appreciated in all parts of the country.
He also said that RAB-9 is determined to strengthen security and take strict legal action against any violence or sabotage to prevent the safety of train passengers and vandalism of railway lines.
After the press conference, RAB-9's bomb disposal unit conducted sweeping operations on the waiting train and on the platform at Sylhet station.
