College student dies of poisoning in Barhatta

A college student named Rakibul Hasan died due to poisoning in Netrakona's Barhatta. He died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at 11.33 on Sunday.

Rakibul Hasan is the son of Fazlu Mia of Chaikgaon village of Asma Union and a class eleven student of Netrakona Government College. Officer-in-charge of Barhatta police station Md. Rafiqul Islam confirmed this information.

According to the police and family sources, Rakibul Hasan was seen staggering after drinking poison on Saturday night. When the family members rushed him to Barhatta Sadar Hospital, the medical officer on duty, Akalima Akhtar, provided primary care.

After seeing his physical condition alarming, he was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment, where he died under treatment. Officer-in-charge of Barhatta police station Md. Rafiqul Islam said that the body is in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
