Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB Director General Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan has ordered BGB to carry out its duties with honesty, devotion and professionalism to complete the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections in a free, fair and beautiful manner.
He made this call to the members of the force in a special court on the occasion of Border Guard Bangladesh Day-2023 celebration on Wednesday morning. BGB press release informed about the celebration of the day.
BGB Director General said, "It is today's expectation that every member of BGB will play an exemplary role as a disciplined and smart soldier in building a smart Bangladesh by 2041."
Referring to the role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the establishment of BGB, Tahini said, BGB today is considered as a well-organized, smart, disciplined, professional and modern border guard force with international standards. Earlier, BGB Director General went to Ganabhaban and paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and wished her on BGB Day.
At this time, the Prime Minister extended his sincere greetings and congratulations to the BGB Director General and all the members of the force, it is said in the press release of BGB.
As part of the BGB Day programme, after Fajr prayers, special prayers were held in the mosques of all units, including Pilkhana. Later, at 6:30 am, the regimental flag of the force was formally hoisted at the Secretariat of the Director General.
Later, Director General of BGB paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War and laid wreaths at 'Seemant Gaurab' at Pilkhana. At around 11:15 AM, he held a special darba at Pilkhana Border Conference Center and at the end of the darba, he gave rank badges to four people promoted from Honorary Subedar Major to Honorary Assistant Director and two to Honorary Deputy Director from Honorary Assistant Director.
