7 gamblers arrested with gambling equipment in Netrakona
Netrakona Model Police Station conducted a special raid in Teligati village of Maugati Union and arrested 7 gamblers along with gambling equipment. Based on secret information, a team of Netrakona Model Police Station raided Shafiq Mia's house in Teligati village on Tuesday morning and arrested 7 gamblers along with gambling equipment while gambling. The arrested gamblers are Md. Ripon Mia (35), son of deceased Mojibur Rahman of Teligati village, Jasim Uddin (42), son of Md. Nazim Uddin, Jalil Mia (35), son of deceased Idris Mia, Bakul Mia (52), son of deceased Nuru Mia, deceased Hormuz Ali. Son Moti Mia (43), son of Elahi Newaz Saidul Islam (32) and son of deceased Kentab Ali Elahi Newaz (71).
In this regard, Netrakona Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abul Kalam (PPM) was contacted and he admitted to the detention of 7 gamblers along with gambling equipment and said that the learned judge did not grant bail to the accused when they were brought to court on Tuesday afternoon after filing a case against the arrested gamblers under the Gambling Act.
