75 bottles of Indian liquor and CNG seized in Jaintapur

Jaintapur Model Thana Police raided Sreepur Alu Bagan area of upazila and seized a CNG vehicle with 75 bottles of Indian liquor.

According to police sources, on Saturday, December 23, around 1:00 p.m., on the basis of secret information, raids were conducted in Mokam Bari Alubagan area of Jaintapur Upazila and Indian liquor was seized.

Jaintapur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Tajul Islam (PPM) accompanied by Police SI Mostafizur Rahman and the police force in the area adjacent to Alu-Bagan sensed the presence of the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw and the criminals entered the CNG auto-rickshaw inside Sreepur Tea-Garden. He left and fled, later the police seized 75 bottles of drugs from inside the CNG.

Seized CNG ( Sylhet-th 12-9367) was seized. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is at least Tk 1 lakh 20 thousand.

In this regard, Jaintapur Model Police Station Officer (in-charge) Md Tajul Islam (PPM) confirmed the incident of drug seizure and said that smugglers have become active in drug trafficking with Christmas and English New Year ahead. On the basis of intelligence information, operations have been intensified across the upazila including the border area of Jaintapur Model Police Station. He said that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act in connection with the seizure of CNG auto-rickshaw with 75 bottles of liquor.
