Youth arrested with foreign liquor in Purwadhala
A man named Humayun Kabir (26) was arrested with 10 bottles of foreign whiskey by the police of Shyamganj investigation center in Purwadhala of Netrakona. The arrested Humayun is the son of Md. Anwar Hossain of Koira village of Kalmakanda upazila of Kabir district.
Police searched a bus named Alif Paribahan going to Narayanganj from Shyamganj Kumudganj More on Saturday (December 23) and recovered 10 bottles of foreign whiskey in two travel bags.
According to police sources, on the basis of secret information, the Sangeet police under the leadership of Sub-Inspector (SI) Hafizur Rahman searched a night coach named Alif Paribahan bound for Narayanganj from Shyamganj Kumudganj More Kalmakanda of Shyamganj Kumudganj Upazila and arrested Humayun Kabir with whiskey in two travel bags.
Police-inspector Ashraful Islam in-charge of Shyamganj investigation center said that after receiving secret information, the police searched nightcoach Alif Paribahan at around 2 am and arrested one person and recovered 10 bottles of foreign whiskey. In this regard, a case has been registered in the Purbadhala Police Station under the Special Powers Act.
