Jannatul Ferdous Ara Jhuma Talukder
Jannatul Ferdous Ara Jhuma Talukder, an independent candidate of this constituency, held a press conference in protest against the threats to publicly kill the workers of the independent candidate and to prevent the campaign in front of the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections. The press conference was held at the residence of the independent candidate in the southern part of the city on Saturday afternoon.
In a written speech at the press conference, he said, "My father, the brave freedom fighter Jalal Uddin Talukder, has been elected from this seat again and again." I am participating as an independent candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections on the instructions of the Honorable Prime Minister, People's Leader Sheikh Hasina. It is the firm commitment of the honorable Prime Minister, People's Leader Sheikh Hasina to deliver a free, fair and impartial election. Keeping that goal in mind, I am choosing the truck icon from this seat. Candidates and workers supporters of boat including candidate Mushtaq Ahmed Ruhi, Kalmakanda Upazila Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijodha Abdul Khalek Talukder, Kailati Union Parishad Chairman Zainal Abedin are carrying out various propaganda including threatening to kill my workers and obstructing the campaign. In such a situation, there have been many doubts among the voters about the competitive, participatory, free, fair and impartial elections that the honorable Prime Minister wants.
In this regard, I will file a written complaint with the video footage to the District Returning Officer and higher authorities engaged in election work in the upazila today and demand a fair election.
